Chinese retailer JD.com has hired Li Xiaoguang, professor at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics as chief scientist overseeing its drone development. Dr.Li holds a Ph.D in aviation and mechanical engineering from Purdue University. He has previously worked as chief engineer at General Electric Aviation and Boeing. In 2013, he participated in the design and development of twin-jet airliner C919 and twin-engined regional jet ARJ21 of Chinese aerospace manufacturer Comac.
